Born and raised in Enfield in north London, Lulu Gilling descends from a family of good cooks, picking up a passion of food as a child, regularly experimenting at supper time by trying out new ideas in the kitchen. The passion for cooking and Lulu expanded her knowledge further by training at Le Cordon Bleu school of cooking in London.
In 2000 Lulu travelled America, working firstly as a commis chef for camp America and then across the east coast, where she tried out all kinds of different cooking styles. It’s here where Lulu gained the inspiration to invent some of the wonderfully unique sandwich fillings at Lulu’s Pantry – an extremely popular gourmet sandwich service in Golders Green where customers were eager to try out her new and exciting recipes.
It was here in 1990s London where Lulu began her Outside Catering business – a event catering service which also felt the touch of Lulu’s unique and ingenious flavour combinations.
At the age of 32, Lulu moved to Lincolnshire and her businesses moved with her. She now hand-delivers her gourmet sandwiches & baguettes across Spalding, Holbeach and Sutterton.
In 2012 Lulu launches The Dining Room, a private dining experience for group bookings where guests can and enjoy an evening of canapés, fizz, cocktails, a fully tailored three course meal, coffee and liqueurs private waitress and chef…all within the comfort of Lulu’s own home.
